Taster session of our Local and Family History class

Journey back through time with historian, Declan Brady, to meet with some of the people who lived at numbers 8, 9, and 10 Henrietta Street, once feted as 'the best address in town'.

Starting with the earliest inhabitants in the Georgian era, Nathaniel Clements at No. 8, Thomas Carter at No. 9 and Luke Gardiner at No. 10, this talk will look at the changes and uses of these buildings through to the early twentieth century, through the lives and experiences of the people who lived there, from Georgian mansions to tenements to convent to school.

Henrietta Adult and Community Education (HACE) was established in 2002 to serve the education needs of local adults in Dublin 1 and Dublin 7. We offer a wide programme of classes from language skills to cooking, history and yoga. Information on our programme will be available on the day.
